Dentures.

Newcastle Sleep Dental can remove all or some of your teeth quickly and painlessly in order to restore your mouth with dentures. Even if you have most of your own teeth this procedure is usually completed in one visit.

Newcastle Sleep Dental has assisted thousands of patients with tooth extractions either under IV Sedation (Sleep Dental) or under general anaesthesia, prior to fabrication of dentures.

All Sleep Dental procedures are completed at our Charlestown practice.

All General Anaesthetic procedures are completed at Linguard Private Hospital located in Merewether.

Fixing loose dentures.

This option has become increasingly popular for people who are suffering with ill-fitting dentures. Either referred to as locators (normal sized implant)  or “mini implants”, this method of tooth replacement involves the insertion of two to six implants into the jaw bone that act like clips for your denture.

The denture constructed by a dental prosthetist to be a perfect fit for these implants, ensuring the prevention of movement and the dramatic improvement in the ability of the denture wearer to chew and speak properly. This option is most popular on the lower arch, which is notorious for preventing the perfect fit of a full denture, but can be applied to the upper arch if necessary.

Mini- Implants.

Usually four to six “mini” implants are used to fix a full denture.

Locators

Newcastle Sleep Dental can place two to three normal sized dental implants (Locators) to fix a loose denture.

All implant procedures are conducted out of our Charlestown surgery by Dr Damian Lloyd. Dr Lloyd works very closely with a local dental prosthetist to ensure that the patient is completely happy with the fit, shade and shape of their new teeth. He only uses the highest standard of dental implants from Nobel BiocareBiomet 3i, 3M, Straumann and Adin.
